6 Tips On How Animals Support Spiritual Growth

Discover how nature and animals support spiritual growth — with a side of humor. Learn how your cat might be a Zen master and why hugging trees is totally legit.

Welcome to the Wild Side of Spiritual Growth

Let’s be honest. Most of us have tried meditating with the grace of a monk and ended up just thinking about pizza. If that’s you, this blog is for you!

The answer to your spiritual growth awakening might not lie in ancient texts or overpriced incense — it could be sitting in your backyard, mooing softly, or perched on a power line.

Yes, my friend, nature and animals can support your spiritual growth — and they’re a lot cheaper than a life coach. Saying that, I surround myself with animals in my rescue sanctuary and I achieved that because of participating in the Master Key Experience (MKE) course.

I learnt how to write my Definite Major Purpose, (my DMP) and set SMARTER GOALS. Yes, smarter than any I had created before. The teachings as a whole, blew me out of the water.

I thought I knew all about manifestation and the ways of the universe, then I did the initial 6 months of the MKE course and discovered a new paradigm to fulfill my dreams and desires.

Here are my tips to support your enhanced lifestyle, from experience of surrounding myself in nature and The Master key Experience …

#1. Trees Are Basically the Dalai Lama with Leaves or Charles Haanel in a Forest Glade.

Ever hugged a tree? No shame. They’re silent, strong, and can hold space for you better than your last therapist. Trees are masters of stillness and patience — just like your meditation app keeps telling you to be.

When you spend time among them, your nervous system chills out. Science calls it “forest bathing.” I call it “going outside and being ‘one’ with nature the forest elf way.” Either way, trees remind us to slow down and stay grounded, both literally and spiritually.

Pro tip: The older the tree, the better the advice. Maybe?

I find this an everyday event. Although in Australia, hugging a tree can be fraught with danger with tree snakes ready to plait your hair or venomous spiders ready to defend their territory.

I also find that the peace I find from hugging trees is matched by reading Charles Haanel or Og Mandino, then taking 15-30 minutes sitting and meditating on allowing the content to sink deeply into my subconscious. Especially if the weather is not conducive to tree hugging!!

Those few minutes at least twice, preferably three times a day catapult you into a blissful but proactive space. It’s not mindless, it’s mindfulness. Great ideas arise from my subconscious mind when I do this. My mind has grown accustomed to this time and eagerly looks forward to it.

I read once, that Richard Branson gets all his best ideas whilst lying in a hammock … sort of the same thing really!!

#2. Cats: Aloof or Awakened? Or ‘The Purr Effect that changes your chemistry

Your cat isn’t ignoring you. They’re just deeply in touch with their higher self — and you’re interrupting. Cats are the original Zen masters, living fully in the moment, meditating in sunbeams, and only communicating when absolutely necessary (or when there’s tuna involved).

Let their attitude inspire you:

– Boundaries? Yes.
Nap schedule? Sacred

Spiritual growth may require detachment from outcomes. Really? You bet. They don’t care if you pet them or not. You’ll pet them anyway.

The soothing experience of the cats purrrrr can be healing of human health and anxiety thanks to the wavelengths and vibrations.

I don’t have a cat, I have an allergy to them. So how do I clear any anxiety that may arise without the purrrrr effect?

Well, the tools and exercises given in the Master Key Experience circumnavigate the symptoms of anxiety, if you practice them of course!

spiritual growth

Our subconscious mind is rewired and the dopamine is released in vast quantities. As a result, I feel good!

The chemistry in the brain is reset and all is well. Ahhhh, I feel like purring.

# 3. Squirrels and the Sacred Art of Preparation. Or find your White then act like a Red whilst being a Yellow then discover your Blue.

You might not think a jittery squirrel is a spiritual growth role model, but hear me out. Squirrels embody presence, purpose, and persistence. Plus, they’re constantly preparing for winter, which is like a metaphor for spiritual readiness, or… at least a reason to stockpile snacks.

They remind us that it’s okay to embrace your ‘white’ (preference for peace) and to enjoy small things — like acorns, or having 14 backup plans for everything. Believe me when I say embrace your white.

We work with the Color Code in the Training Solutions staff. Click on the link to get your free test and learn more about the color code personality science. The squirrel might be a Red, embodying presence, purpose and persistence, focusing on Progress.

Think of PPPPP. If the squirrel were to teach it’s young how to present a course in gathering and manifesting nuts, it’s Persistent Practice Produces Perfect Presentations!

The White is drawn to focus and clarity, which then gives the feeling of peace because enough nuts have been gathered.

They can have lots of fun doing it too… very Yellow. The Blue is all about caring. They can be quite compassionate when or if they share their nuts!

I learnt all of that in the Master Key Experience. “IS THERE ANYTHING THEY DON’T TEACH YOU?” Hmmm, probably not. Being a self-directed thinker is one of the side effects of MKE!!

#4. The Ocean Is a Therapist with Waves. Or Letting Go of Control Comes from Peace and Harmony.

Sit by the sea long enough, and you’ll start hearing life advice between the crashing waves. The ocean teaches surrender, flow, and the power of just letting go. It’s also very effective at making you feel insignificant in the best possible way!

Feeling stressed? Go stare at the water. Bonus points if a dolphin shows up to nod at you knowingly.

Choose your body of water mindfully. Here in Australia, you may meet a saltwater crocodile. If you do, don’t surrender, run like a speeding bullet!

The power of just letting go, going with the flow and surrendering is another symptom of MKE. I find the new habits formed from the excellent exercises are supporting a greater level of integrity in my being, one so great that I don’t need opinions or to control a situation … I’m so Zen!!

#5. Dogs: Your Furry Spiritual Growth Support Team – Or a Mastermind Alliance

Dogs are walking heart chakras. They love unconditionally, forgive easily, and live in the now. If you’ve ever looked into a dog’s eyes during a tough time and felt seen, that’s not just emotion — that’s empathic resonance from a four-legged sage who also licks their own butt! Ewww.

Still counts!

I’m not that flexible, but the superpower I do have is the wonderful mastermind alliance with the members of MKE, especially during the course where I have a Tribe with who I can share love, laughing, crying if needed and generally bounce amazing ideas around.

We practice no opinions and only positive language. We learn so much from each other!! That’s almost as valuable to me as my dogs!!

#6. Toads, Turtles, and Other Tiny Gurus. Or the Master Key Experience Game Changer.

Sometimes the most unlikely creatures offer the biggest lessons:

Turtles teach patience and carrying your home with you (emotionally, not literally — unless you’re into tiny houses).

Toads represent transformation. They’ve had an awkward teenage phase, too.
Bees? Communal harmony and productivity. Plus, they’re basically tiny fuzzy tribes. Adorable.

These are all the attributes within MKE and what is experienced by the Members’ Tribes, Guides, and Staff members.

Guided Transformation – you can’t beat it. No one left behind. That’s my motto and I don’t quit, not even when I get stung or fall in the pond.

spiritual growth

Dedication to the members is a win-win situation. Whether your juvenile toad-like memories are etched deeply in your subconscious or not, your Golden Buddha is revealed and celebrated!! Nothing Like It!

How Your Inner Animals Support Spiritual Growth – Turn Them Loose

Here’s your action plan:

* Go outside. Really.
* Leave your phone. (Scary, I know.)
* Sit. Watch. Listen. Take your DMP, Og Mandino or Charles Haanel with you.

Be cool. Talk to a tree. Thank a bird. Meditate with a squirrel (from a respectful distance). Gratitude is the key here.

Breathe deeply. Oxygenate your brain cells and release any negativity with your out-breath.
Your Golden Buddha is there and always has been. It just got buried under all that cement and now you and I are polishing it and letting it shine for the world to see.

The point is: nature doesn’t care about your personal development or spiritual growth. You don’t need robes or crystals (though those are cool, too)… just curiosity, presence, and maybe a biodegradable snack, whilst you are participating in such a fulfilling journey with MKE.

Final Thoughts: Get Dirty, Get Deep

Spiritual growth doesn’t always have to be solemn. It can be muddy, mossy, giggly, and full of bird poop. And that’s okay. The Earth isn’t just our home — it’s our teacher, our mirror, and occasionally our comedic relief.

So next time you feel lost, go ask a tree. Or a cat. Or a confused-looking raccoon. You might just find the wisdom you were searching for — along with some laughter.
