Our environment and subconscious mind are tied together, influencing each other and ultimately, our lives. When it comes to personal growth and manifesting our ideal life, few people realise just how powerfully that connection is.
At The Master Key Experience (MKE), we explore how intentional design of your inner and outer world can reshape your thoughts, habits, and ultimately your results. This includes making smarter goals that take less time to achieve, because they are smart and they teach you how to be smart!! Dive into this blog and be inspired.
Let’s explore the profound connection between your environment and subconscious mind — and how you can use it to your advantage.
The Subconscious: Your Silent Powerhouse
Your subconscious mind governs about 95% of your daily thoughts, behaviours, and emotions. It’s like the operating system behind the scenes — accepting and acting on the data it’s given, often without question.
Unlike the conscious mind, the subconscious doesn’t reason. It accepts repeated inputs and patterns as “truth.” This is why your environment is so critical: it feeds your subconscious with the information it then uses to drive your behaviour. Hmmm smart!!
How Environment Shapes the Subconscious
Here’s how the environment — both physical and social — can shape and enhance your subconscious programming:
1. Repetition of Visual Cues
Your subconscious is highly impressionable to repeated visuals. Whether it’s a vision board, affirmations on your mirror, or a tidy workspace, the visuals you surround yourself with communicate to your subconscious what’s important. So setting smarter goals to improve your environment is a game-changer.
I found in The Master Key Experience how to create powerful tools like movie posters, index cards, gratitude cards and other visual cues that visually reinforce my Definite Major Purpose (DMP).
Over time, these cues did reprogramme my belief systems at the deepest level. I was suitably impressed!
2. Emotional Tone of Surroundings
The energy and mood of a space affect your subconscious. Spaces filled with chaos, negativity, or clutter can create stress and feed limiting beliefs. In contrast, environments filled with order, beauty, and positivity signal safety and possibility — perfect conditions for growth.
Remember that plant you want to have in your work space? Now is the time to place it!! Not only do some of them give oxygen, they deplete CO2 to help you focus more easily.
One of the key takeaways from The Master Key System is that harmony in the environment and subconscious mind together produce harmony in thought and action. I learnt about the SAP, the smallest achievable perfection.
That concept is based on starting every day focusing on a small task and performing it absolutely perfectly. That intention and attention eventually spills into everything you do on that day, and all the rest.
Everything I do now I think about achieving perfection where possible! I know we are not all perfect, but it’s the smarter way of “doing” that’s worthy of feelings of self-integrity and achievement, which feed how we’re “being”.
3. Language and Conversations
Words are seeds, they are the highest form of architecture.
What I hear repeatedly — whether from myself or others — takes root in the subconscious. This is why affirmations, mastermind partnerships, and a supportive community are so central to the Master Key Experience.
There are many opinions about affirmations, mostly that they don’t work. All I can say is that you have to experience the way MKE teaches them to know they do work, given the right environment to support them. It makes all the difference.
So, by being smarter, what I found is that changing my environment and subconscious mind may mean reducing exposure to negative people or media, and increasing time with those who speak the language of encouragement, possibility, and truth.
The amazing Tribes we have during the September to March course are the vehicle for our one-on-one time with our Guide and the other members of the Tribe. This new community hastens our personal and spiritual growth.
4. Habitual Spaces and Rituals
Certain locations trigger automatic behaviours. A clean desk might inspire productivity. A meditation corner can instantly quiet the mind. When you associate spaces with specific states or tasks, your subconscious gets the message.
I learnt to create healthy-mindset rituals — like daily readings, sit sessions, and intentional journaling — that train the subconscious mind to expect transformation.
These were initially a challenge to me, being a Yellow Color Code personality.
Yellows just love to have fun! Getting down to serious personal and spiritual growth has to be fun, so getting my Color Code profile helped me work out just why I was challenged by routine and ritual.
So being the smart cookie I am, I put the Color Code to good use by working on my challenges and making my strengths stronger!!
I bucked against routine and ritual. However, now I find them to be highly transformative and especially enjoy the “sit” that gives my mind the time to chill and retrieve fantastic ideas from my subconscious.
Creating that unique area of meditation is my sanctuary, my vision maker and my universal consciousness connection, it’s a wonderful place! It’s the environment I create!
Environmental Design: Environment and Subconscious Mind Together
What makes The Master Key Experience (MKE) unique is its holistic approach to transformation. I wasn’t told what to think — I was shown how to rewire my environment and subconscious mind so my subconscious is continuously working for me, not against me.
From creating a supportive community to intentionally designing daily inputs, MKE guides you through a proven system that aligns your inner world with your outer reality.
Each day, each week, we did exercises that built on each other to form a link in our mind to all the lessons. I can’t explain it in a blog. It really is something you need to experience for yourself.
I read many self-help books previously and reading about self-help just didn’t cut it. The ego jumped in and said “but I know that!” I did know it, but hadn’t grasped the personal involvement required. But the MKE exercises do help me grasp it, in a very smart way. Truly amazing.
In my maturity I’ve come to realise that a 6 months commitment is no time at all in the big scheme of life.
With MKE, the 6 months goes so quickly because the course is so engaging and you start to see the results almost immediately which is a big dopamine hit. The environment created with the course work behooves your engagement. That is the key!

In this day and age, we get so many distractions in our environment and subconscious mind, causing us to forget what we were doing 10 mins ago.
That’s not helpful as a training for your brain and mind. It creates the neural pathways that are not supportive for empowering you long term.
The smarter way to have a healthy mindset and real growth is to know in your heart, 6 months to change your life is the smarter way to use your time creatively. It’s how you create your visions and achieve your goals. Way better than that endless loop of underachievement and disappointment in yourself.
Final Thoughts: Change Your Environment, Have Smarter Goals and Change Your Life
If you’re trying to create change in your life, but feel like you’re hitting an invisible wall — take a look around. Your environment and subconscious mind may be reinforcing the very patterns you’re trying to escape.
I learnt many years ago that the 5 closest people to you shaped your reality. So here’s a cue to look at those people in your life.
Are they serving your healthy mindset and have your best interests at heart, or are they zapping your energy and confidence, dragging you down to a level you want to lift yourself out of?
Last year I met a wonderful couple and learnt about the business they work in. It’s called Runbuk, Inc. Their mission is to help you explore the world through running. From deep inside Antarctica to the top of the world at the North Pole, or anywhere between, Runbuk can be found.
This is an amazing inspiration to me. I was once a competitive runner and credit those experiences to some of my best memories.
I am always inspired when I look at their website or LinkedIn and see how upwardly motivated the runners are, running Marathons all around the world — the famous 7 Marathons on 7 Continents in 7 Days!! Phew, I’m exhausted thinking about it, but the environment they are in is top notch! Especially their inner environment.
They are all so motivated and have grit. It’s amazing, the adversities they overcome to complete the marathon. Look at the North Pole and Antarctic Marathons… crazy unbelievable stuff and some do it yearly!!
See, this is how it works. Your thoughts create your mindset which creates your environment … but wait, your environment and your subconscious mind create your reality? Yes, it’s all connected!!

The good news? You can change it. And when you do, your subconscious will respond in powerful, life-altering ways. Inspiration is your best friend.
The Master Key Experience helps people from all walks of life break free from limiting environments and step into lives of purpose, passion, and prosperity — one habit and one environment at a time. Take a look here and and see what real inspiration is from people who have followed this same path.

Oh Shirley! 😄
In my book she’s PEACHES & CREAM, Arlene!
How interesting, Drew…the environment as an Influencer.
I agree, Peaches. We talk about “it’s a progression” a lot in #MasterKeyExperience.
I love your words, Stephanie, “transformation happens when knowledge meets practice.”
I agree, Esther. Peaches admission that she just didn’t get the same result from reading books, etc.
What a great read, Peaches!! I especially like this phrase: “it’s the smarter way of “doing” that’s worthy of feelings of self-integrity and achievement, which feed how we’re “being”. I’ll be passing along this post as I also encourage seekers I know to sign up to experience the #MasterKeyExperience! #NothingLike#It #StepsInTheHerosJourney
This post really resonated with me. I’ve always believed our surroundings shape more than just our mood — they shape our mindset, too. The way you described the influence of visual cues, language, and even emotional tone of our environment was spot on. I especially loved the idea of SAP (Smallest Achievable Perfection) — such a practical and powerful mindset shift. Thank you for such a rich and inspiring read!
Thanks Esther.
Our MKE Community is priceless, just like all incredibly supportive communities.
Thanks Stephanie.
That’s the beauty of The Master Key Experience isn’t it?

Doesn’t everyone? Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, Peaches, how beautifully and clearly you explained this very powerful and crucial truth that our environment and subconscious mind are so closely interconnected and interdependent. Yes, I am also very grateful that we’ve learned this very truth and the practical skills to apply this principle in our daily life through our MKE course.
This blog brilliantly shows how environment and subconscious shape our lives, and I love that you didn’t just talk theory—you acted. Your commitment to reprogramming habits and designing smarter goals proves transformation happens when knowledge meets practice. Inspiring and actionable!
Thanks Arlene.
By the way, I do like cookies 😋
Environmental influencing of my subconscious mind, that’s absolutely brilliant!
