Day, reading this brought fullness of heart because your vulnerability poured right through the screen. Having just sat with you over breakfast, I could feel your heart in every word here. That radiant energy of yours was present even in the trials you shared. It’s such a gift when someone reflects on a tough moment not with shame, but with wisdom and willingness to grow. I’ve had moments like this, too. Moments where I let the wrong words out, and later realized they carried a power I didn’t fully honor in the moment. Thanks so much for this thought piece, Day! I love your reminder: “if we wish desirable conditions, we can afford to entertain only desirable thoughts”…then you point out that those thoughts become words. I had a handsome uncle who was quite short in stature. His labor as a welder bulked him up, and it was clear that he had enormous physical strength. But he apparently didn’t think that inside–he seemed to compensate for his poor self-image as a short man with habitual loud, dramatic curse words in almost every sentence, with tight fists. We kids were afraid of him and whether he might yell at us if we displeased him, so we weren’t as close to him as we might have been had he not been so bombastic. I so wish he could have experienced the incredible self-confidence-building of the Master Key Experience as it teaches the incredible power of OTHER kinds of words.
